Earthworks ETHOS Microphone
I recently got this Earthworks Microphone, which they claim has won a design award. This is a Supercardioid mic that tries to isolate the noise close to the mic to the exclusion of background noise. As for design, I approve. It’s heavy, too — it feels like it’s been built like a tank. The mic comes with a ball head that can easily screw into your boom arm. The ball head is a joy to use. This is an XLR mic, so you need a USB Audio Interface to mediate between the mic and your computer. For me, I got the TASCAM US-2x2HR.
